July 13th, 2008

Why do I seem to have been neglegting this Blog?

Well I’ve been a busy boy exploring the world of private label rights, resale rights and master resale rights. I’ve aquired licences to some wonderful stuff which I’ll be implementing into my marketing efforts over the coming months.

I’ve some quality to give away as well. I’m going to give you access to a great content call with master resale rights from Liz Tomey and Jeff Derrick. Packed full of ideas on listbuilding, affiliate marketing, joint venture deal brokering and much, much more. So go on and have a look at a great free call.

When it comes to private label products there is one true master in the field Russell Brunson from DotComSecrets. Now I’ve a little audio e-book for you packed full of content in the field. Russell spills the beans on how he’s used private label content to increase the value of his offers in his business.

Other Free Traffic Sources

June 13th, 2008

Looking over some of the places I’ve adverised online, I was looking again at traffic exchanges. There are thousands out there and new ones popping up all the time. Now do I have time to test them all an see where there are receptive buyers or leads to be captured?

No I absolutely do not.

Do I believe that they work and produce value on your time or money. Absolutely so where do I get the time to track my advertising and test new exchanges….. I don’t have the time I ask experts that track this type of data day in and out.

I use TrafficHoopla because they have years of testing experience and the budget to feed what works and doesn’t back to their members.

Do yourself a favour and check out TrafficHoopla today.

Day7 Staying Focused

May 9th, 2008

This is a recovery post I mean it’s been days since I had some time to look at my stuff. It was nice to get some spam on the blog but hey at least people are now looking at the stuff. I’ve cracked some ideas and looked at monetising some of my offline activity online.

I’m going to sell my University essays on ebay. I can’t believe that I’ve never done this before.

day 6 opportunity cost

April 26th, 2008

There are a few options for those that are new to internet marketing. Learn it all yourselves, for those that want to do so there are great free tools out there to help you along the way. A good example is NVU an open source html editor which will let you build your own web site from scratch with little to no web scripting experience.

What about those who simply do not have the time or the talent to begin learning html well all is not lost because help is at hand in the form of experts you can hire cheaply.

What is the opportunity cost here well if it’s going to take you 5-10 hours to learn to use NVU and upload your new site and your time is worth $15 an hour. Is it not better to hire someone to write your webcode for you for $20-30.

Day 5 Making your first buck online

April 24th, 2008

Russel wrote an article about making his first buck online. Like most myself included it was as an affiliate of another product. You do not have to go out and write your own there are thousands available. I’ve promoted some things in the past that when I look back upon I cannot believe that I was so naive, I’ve now got a few rules I stick too.

Rule 1 of affiliate marketing - If is sounds too good to be true then there is a very high probability that it will be too good to be true. (Please bear in mind that some unorganic spamming and cheating of search engines etc may work short term but don’t look to the quick buck.)

Rule 2 of affiliate marketing - If your promoting a product treat it like you own it reveiw it tell people why you love it. (Use it before you recommed it.)

Rule 3 of affiliate marketing - Do not take anything at face value, read the small print and be informed as to what your promoting regardless of whose product it is. (Just look at the stir kicked up by Joel Comm’s new product launch)

Some Hierarchy of Effect Models AIDA and Others.

April 23rd, 2008

Hierarchy of effects are among the oldest models in the marketing communications structure. They were the dominant force in a marketers thinking until the 1980’s.

Year

Model Cognitive Affective Conative
1900 AIDA, St Elmo Lewis Attention Interest, Desire Action
1911 AIDAS, Sheldon Attention Interest, Desire Action, Satisfaction
1921 AIDCA, Kitson Attention Interest, Desire, Conviction Action
1961 ACCA, Colley Awareness, comprehension Conviction Action
1962 AIETA, Rogers Awareness Interest, Evaluation Trial, Adoption
1971 ACALTA, Robertson Awareness, comprehension Attitude, Legitimation Trial, Adoption

How does this affect attention to your blog, There has been slight evolution in academic marketing thought but the key themes of attention, interest and action in some form are fairly constant.

The three phases can be termed cognitive - Where the consumers or readers engage in mental processes which lead to brand awareness. (What is this guy blogging about? – have you grabbed their attention).

Affective stage- The consumer is challenged emotional or feeling responses become associated with the product or brand. (What is this guy saying? - I hate this, I’m feeling uncomfortable).

Conative or Behavioural stage – Refers to actions such as using product or buying the brand. (What will I do now? - bookmark the site or never visit again).

benefits and drawbacks of using a free blogging service

April 22nd, 2008

Lets look at two of the most frequently used free blogging services. Wordpress and Blogger at the end of the article just click the above links to goto their site. All you need is a valid email account. Let me know how you go setting it up and leave us the url for your new blog and any questions about the bloggosphere.

Benefits

1) Free

2) You need no HTML knowledge or any other programming skills.

3) Disposable it’s cost you nothing therefore if you need it only for short term communications then it’s perfect.

Drawbacks

1) You don’t own the site and can’t therefore advertise with google.

2) If you do want to start your own website your previous blog content is with blogger or wordpress and you will loose any benefits of search engine ranking you had previously gained with the likes of google.

3)Your site will be a subdomain of the main site and appear as http://yoursite.wordpress.com or http://blogger.wordpress.com

All in all the best place to start is free if you are not entirely sure of your needs

Day 4 Failing fast and moving on

April 21st, 2008

“We polled the audience at our most recent workshop and found that over 60 percent have failed at least five times before finding success online. Our panel of gurus had similar experiences. There’s no doubt that failure will happen, but there is
one key that helps successful people rise above.” Russell Brunson.

It’s not an experince that fills us with joy to admit but something that most have some experience off. Over the past few days I’ve encountered a few ideas that I’ve seen before and not implemented, this is a time for change however we all can benfit from a sharing in others experiences Russell Brunson himself admits to paying £15,000 to be part of the Deal/Kennedy innercircle. This is the mastermind principle from “Think and Grow Rich.” in action yes I’ve read it but not in practice implemented it.

What I’m looking to do for myself and peers on this course is a bit of self promotion, leave us a comment with your biggest failure online and a suggestion for how to overcome that if you were to stat again. Leave your name and website URL once I’ve got enough posts I’ll extend it into a free e-book which I’ll give away as a free bonus for any promotions I ever do. The links back to the sites and contributor info will be intact in the book.
